Review by Michael Robey

Jayson Lindh's self-titled album is a mesmerizing blend of jazz, blues, and rock that showcases the impressive musical talent of this Swedish saxophonist. The nine tracks on the album are a testament to Lindh's versatility as a musician, as he effortlessly switches between different styles and moods, creating a rich and varied listening experience.

The album opens with the upbeat and funky "Takin' Off," which sets the tone for the rest of the album. Lindh's saxophone playing is crisp and precise, and he is backed by a solid rhythm section that keeps the groove going. "Soulful Strut" is a more laid-back track that features some beautiful piano work and a soulful saxophone solo.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Blues for a Friend," a slow and mournful blues number that showcases Lindh's ability to convey emotion through his playing. The track builds to a powerful crescendo, with Lindh's saxophone soaring over the top of the driving rhythm section.

The album closes with the epic "The Day After," a nine-minute instrumental that takes the listener on a musical journey through different moods and styles. Lindh's saxophone playing is particularly impressive on this track, as he weaves in and out of the intricate musical arrangements.
